The contest encourages young people, ages 11-13 (who must be 11, 12 or 13 on November 15th ) to think about peace, express creatively what it means to them and to share their own unique visions with the world. Students select a medium as outlined in the contest rules to draw, paint or sketch their interpretation of the contest’s theme. Contest Rules and Conditions stated in the pack must be adhered to.

Details, if you wish to take part, are as follows

1. Appoint a Peace Poster Contest Officer. Make contact with local Schools / Youth Groups to request their participation.
2. The contest is promoted annually in the February / March issue of the Lion Magazine.
3. Information is given on the theme of the contest and the address contact for ordering kits.
4. Information is also available at District Convention, where the MDHQ sales will have the kits.
5. Kits can be ordered directly from MDHQ. The deadline for purchasing kits for the competition is 1st October. On receipt of the pack please complete the postcard informing the District Governor of your club’s intention to participate, or contact the District Competitions Officer (details in the Lions Directory)
6. The pack includes an Achievement Award Certificate and a Certificate of Appreciation together with all of the rules needed to enter the competition. The cost of the pack is approximately £8 (plus postage and packing) to be paid to MDHQ.
7. Any questions regarding the contest should be directed to either the District Competitions Officer or peaceposter@lionsclubs.org.uk.
8. November 15th Postmark is the deadline date for submission of club’s entries to the Competitions Officer.
9. The entries are then judged at the November Cabinet Meeting.
10. The winning entry is then submitted to MD, for the MD Competition.
