2008 THEME IS “PEACE BEGINS WITH ME”The contest encourages young people, ages 11-13 (who must be 11, 12, or 13 on November 15 2008) to think about peace, creatively express what it means to them and to share their own unique visions with the world. Students select a medium as outlined in the contest rules to draw, paint or sketch their interpretation of the contest’s theme. Contest Rules & Conditions stated in the pack must be adhered to. Details if you wish to take part 1. Appoint a Peace Poster Contest Officer. Make contact with local Schools/Youth Groups to request their participation. 2. The contest is promoted annually in the February/March issue of the “B & I”. 3. Information is given on the theme of the contest and the address contact for ordering a kit. 4. Information is also available at District Convention. 5. Kits can be ordered direct from Oak Brook by your Club by telephone 630-571 5466 or by fax on 630-571 0964, or through Club Supplies (website or e-mail clubsupplies@lionsclubs.org), (a small number will be available from the competitions officer at the end of January 2007 or alternatively from Oak brook from 15 January 2007. Deadline for purchasing kits is 1 October 2007. Upon receipt of pack please complete the postcard informing the District Governor of your Clubs intention to participate or contact the District Competitions Officer (details in Directory). 6. The pack includes an Achievement Award Certificate and a Certificate of Appreciation together with all the rules needed to enter the competition. The cost of the pack is approximately $7.95 (plus postage & packing) billed direct by Oak Brook. 7.
