Peace Poster

Created in 1988, the Peace Poster Contest gives young people throughout the world a chance to think about world peace and creatively express what it means to them.

Between 1988 and 1998, more than 1.5 million children have been challenged to draw, paint or sketch their interpretation of world peace.

A different theme is selected each year and young people create a poster that reflects peace, as they see it.

The contest is open to children aged 11, 12 or 13, in January each year... by 1999 over 300,000 entries were being received annually.

No words in any language may be used on the poster - no photographs - no attachments.

The contest is multi-level, entries progress from a Lions Club through to District and Multiple-District to the international final, which takes place at the International Headquarters. The winning entries going on display at the annual International Convention of Lions Clubs International, to which the overall winner is invited.
