Every year the District holds an AGM. The event is over 3 days, Friday to Sunday, and Lions and partners are invited to attend all or just part of the event.
Convention starts on the Friday with an informal lunch and in the evening there is Host night, usually fancy dress, the emphasis is on fun and fellowship. Saturday is the business session, the AGM of the District chaired by the District Governor. In the evening, the District Governor’s Banquet and Ball is held. Sunday is farewell time and often it is the time to have an informal talk with the International Guest.
The role of Convention Host Chairman is to co-ordinated, with a committee, the events over the weekend from organising the informal lunches, Host Night and Banquet and Ball to having enough Lions in attendance at the AGM to ensure a smooth running event for the District Governor. To ensure all paperwork is available for Delegates and that Registration for Convention is organised smoothly and voting procedures can be followed and supporting the Governor on the business day
